Shelfie Terms of Service

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction) to use Shelfie. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement and are legally able to enter into these Terms.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date. You may delete your account at any time; see our Account Deletion page.

You retain ownership of the content you add to Shelfie, including books, notes, quotes, highlights, journal entries, voice notes, and profile information ("Content"). You grant us a limited license to host, store, and process your Content solely to operate the Service for you.

You are responsible for your Content and for ensuring you have the rights to upload it. You agree not to upload content that infringes the rights of others or that is unlawful.

You agree not to:

• Use Shelfie for any unlawful, harmful, fraudulent, or abusive purpose.
• Attempt to access, disrupt, or compromise the Service, its systems, or other users' data.
• Misuse AI-powered features to generate harmful, misleading, or infringing content.
• Share your account credentials or resell access to the Service.
• Scrape, copy, or extract data from Shelfie without permission.

Shelfie offers paid Premium features. Subscriptions are billed through Stripe on a recurring basis (monthly or annually) until you cancel. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time from the Premium section of the app. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law. We may change pricing with reasonable advance notice; existing subscriptions continue at the then-current rate until renewal.

Shelfie uses AI to provide features such as book companions, summaries, and recommendations. AI-generated content may be inaccurate or incomplete. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying any AI output before relying on it. We do not guarantee the accuracy, reliability, or availability of AI-generated results.

The Shelfie software, design, branding, and Service are owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. Book metadata in the shared catalog is community-sourced and may be subject to third-party rights. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks or proprietary content.

You may stop using Shelfie and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if your activity creates risk or legal exposure, or as otherwise necessary to protect the Service. Upon termination, your personal data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that Shelfie will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that any AI output is accurate.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Shelfie and its providers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Service.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above when we do. Continued use of Shelfie after changes takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
