How to delete your account
You can delete your Shelfie account directly from within the app at any time:
- Open the Shelfie app and sign in to your account.
- Go to your Profile page.
- Scroll to the Account section and tap Delete Account.
- Review the summary of what will be deleted and retained.
- Type DELETE to confirm and tap Delete Account.
Once confirmed, your personal data is erased and you are signed out automatically. This action cannot be undone.
What data is deleted
When you delete your account, the following personal data is permanently removed from Shelfie:
- Profile (display name, bio, avatar, and privacy settings)
- Library (all books and reading statuses)
- Shelves and custom collections
- Reading sessions and reading history
- Reading days, streaks, and reading goals
- Journal entries, quotes, notes, highlights, thoughts, and predictions
- Characters and plot timeline events
- Friend requests and Circle connections
- Social activity feed posts
Shared catalog book entries are community content and are preserved, but they contain no personal information that identifies you.
What data is retained
Certain records are retained where required by the Base44 platform or by legal and regulatory obligations:
Authentication account
Your login credentials (email and name) are managed by the Base44 platform. They cannot be permanently deleted or disabled from within the Shelfie app. To fully remove your login account, contact Base44 support after completing in-app deletion.
Billing records
Transaction and subscription records processed via Stripe are retained for billing accuracy, tax compliance, and dispute resolution as required by financial regulations.
Support tickets
Support requests you submit are retained for administrative records and to resolve any ongoing issues.
AI usage logs
Aggregated logs of AI-powered feature usage are retained for platform monitoring and abuse prevention.
Retention period
Retained records are kept only for as long as necessary for security, fraud prevention, billing accuracy, legal compliance, or platform operation. Once those purposes no longer apply, the records are deleted or anonymized in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection laws.
