• Account information: your email address and name, provided when you register or are invited, and managed by the Base44 platform.
• Library and reading data: books you add, reading statuses, reading sessions, reading days and streaks, reading goals, shelves, characters, plot events, and journal entries (notes, quotes, highlights, thoughts, predictions).
• Circle and social data: your profile, username, bio, avatar, privacy settings, friend requests, and social activity feed posts.
• Uploaded content: photos and audio you upload, such as profile avatars and voice notes.
• Support communications: information you provide when contacting support.
• Usage and technical data: aggregated AI feature usage logs and standard platform diagnostic information.
• Billing data: subscription and transaction records processed by Stripe when you purchase Shelfie Premium.

• To provide, operate, and maintain Shelfie and your personal library.
• To enable social features such as your Circle, friend connections, and the activity feed.
• To process Premium subscriptions and billing.
• To provide support and respond to your requests.
• To improve features, monitor usage, and prevent abuse, fraud, and security issues.
• To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only as necessary to operate the service:

• Service providers: the Base44 platform (which hosts and authenticates Shelfie) and Stripe (which processes payments).
• Your Circle: social and activity data you choose to share is visible to your connections according to your privacy settings.
• Legal compliance: where required by law, regulation, or to protect rights, safety, and security.

You can delete your personal data at any time from within the app. Visit our Account Deletion page for full details on what is removed and what is retained.

Some records required for security, fraud prevention, billing, or platform operation may be retained in accordance with this Privacy Policy. Retained records are kept only for as long as necessary, then deleted or anonymized.

Depending on your region, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, use the in-app account deletion feature or contact us using the details below.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data. However, no system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Shelfie is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above when we do. Continued use of Shelfie after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
